Situated within the SEC, this indoor arena hosts big-name acts with the likes of Rhianna, Ed Sheeran and Beyonce having played there. Glasgow City Halls
Hidden away down one of the Merchant City’s smaller streets, in Candleriggs, the City Halls exterior betrays what’s within. Step inside though and you’re treated to a mix of modern concert and rehearsal space alongside imposing staircases, giving the place a real sense of splendour. The venue hosts a plethora of artists from the classical and jazz music world and the size of the hall feels just right. Being in the Merchant City you’re spoilt for choice for both pre- and post-theatre food and drink, so you can make a big night of it.
A true piece of Glasgow history is on offer here as the Barrowlands is one of Glasgow’s oldest gig venues and dance halls and was built in 1934. It’s hosted the likes of Iron Maiden, Oasis, The Clash and David Bowie to name a few. By day the Barrowlands houses the Barras Market, an East End institution, while at night is comes alive with young and old alike soaking up the atmosphere of a real Glasgow knees up !
Set in the heart of Kelvingrove Park this once disused bandstand and amphitheatre has been restored to it’s former glory. The open air venue accommodates just over 2,000 people and annually hosts Glasgow Summer Nights, a series of concerts from internationally renowned artists. This year’s line-up includes city favourite, Lulu, as well as Dr Hook, Big Country and even George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic. On a sunny summer evening this makes for a truly memorable experience, hearing your best-loved music live as the sun sets over Glasgow.
