Family Breaks in Glasgow

Family Fun in Glasgow

If you have the family in tow, then you’ll be pleased to know we’ve arranged a list of some of the finest places for the little ones to have a ball. Glasgow has a wonderful variety of museums and entertainment hubs to suit all ages and, even better, they’re all just a train or bus ride away from our apartments meaning you can head straight for bed once you’re all worn out.

Glasgow Science Centre

Glasgow’s Science Centre is an impressive building on the River Clyde, with its armadillo-like architecture providing one of the most memorable sights on the city’s skyline. Inside, you’ll find a plethora of interactive exhibitions, all created to inspire young minds and make science fun. Check out their regular displays (we saw an exploding potato once!) for plenty of fun filled gasps, and finish the day off by seeing a film at the on-site IMAX cinema.

Braehead Soar

Only 20 minutes away by bus or car, Braehead Soar will shield you if you encounter rain during your stay. It’s a real wonderland of child-friendly activities with a climbing wall and free-fall experience as you enter, ten-pin bowling, soft play, amusement arcade, laser tag and cinema. You’ll find a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes too if you’ve worked up an appetite !

Jurassic Parr

Just a short drive from our apartments you can enjoy a game of crazy golf at Jurassic Parr. This dinosaur-themed course gives the kids a chuckle as dinos hover over all 18 of its holes. Given that we’re not famous for our great weather, make sure you wrap up warm and take extra layers just in case. Once you’re out there it’s great fun and the kids will love the opportunity to beat mum and dad in a competition!

Bricklive

Attention all Lego fans ! This event is not to be missed by Lego enthusiasts. See awesome creations from world class Lego builders (that’s actually a real job!) with various zones including Star Wars, Minecraft, safari warrior bots and a race ramp or jump into a brick pit and set about designing your own. The event takes place at the SEC which is within walking distance of our apartments, and is sure to be popular so we advise booking tickets in advance.
