Daily Record Building

Construction finished in the early 1900’s, and newspapers were from this very building shortly thereafter. Nowadays, one can enjoy a café in the building and admission is free.

The Glasgow School of Art

Considered a Charles Rennie Mackintosh masterpiece, sadly it succumbed to fire damage several years ago. Despite this it is worth a visit.

Mackintosh at the Willow

Afternoon tea at the Mackintosh Willow Rooms is almost a rite of passage in Glasgow. Although tradition is important to them, menus are reinvented to suit the season and various celebrations such as Halloween and Mother’s Day. One of our favourite places in Glasgow.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

A dedicated exhibit to highlight the work of Mackintosh is open to visitors at the renowned Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Get up close and personal with a selection of his of work which includes ceramics, furniture and textiles. Open daily and admission is free.

Helensburgh Club

The town of Helensburgh is hope to the skilled and beautifully designed, Helensburgh Club. The work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh it opened as a clubhouse for the conservative club and is open to visitors. Do check the website for the schedule.

Scotland Street School Museum

A building designed towards the end of his career; guided tours can be arranged to learn more about the history of this elegant building. Closed on Mondays, admission is free.

The Mackintosh House

One Glaswegian man, Charlies Rennie Mackintosh had a vision early in the last century of creating interiors and buildings like no other. He didn’t fail. Here, his designs are carefully brought to life reassembling of the main interiors from the Mackintosh home. It was here CRM and his wife lived in the early 1900’s. The tour at the Hunterian Gallery is a self-guided one.

The Glasgow Art Club

Established in 1867, the Glasgow Art Club obtained their own property in 1892.
